Hey Dems. How about Connecting the (Blue) Dots?

Open letter to the new chair of the Democratic National Committee, Ken Martin:

Dear Mr. Martin,

In this dangerous historical moment with the U.S. government in the hands of those who would destroy it, isn’t it time to recognize and honor the resilient and loyal Blue-Dot constituencies in reliably red states?

These are the people who, surrounded and outnumbered by MAGA voters, bravely stand up for democracy by turning out for every election.

To that end, I’m suggesting that you convene regular Blue-Dot gatherings that bring together representatives from a dozen or more locales. Given their experience behind-the-lines, these representatives could offer you some key insights into how to nurture more Democratic votes in hostile surroundings. They could also serve as an effective sounding board for any new messaging.

None of the Blue-Dot’s red home states will likely flip allegiance any time soon. But in an electoral map where every county counts, these determined Blue souls could become a surprising vanguard in the battle to rescue America.

If I were to choose a Blue Dot site to begin this new enterprise, I would humbly suggest Indianapolis. Other places to consider — suggested by their 2024 presidential-percentage vote share — are included…
